Denver ART - Active Release Technique - "Fixing Injuries Fast"
ART has been used with great success on professional athletes, Olympic athletes, office workers, laborers, housewives, youth athletes, and anyone with a movement pattern condition. What are Active Release Technique (ART)? Active Release Technique, or ART, is a non-invasive treatment used to correct conditions arising from overuse, repetitive stress injuries, sports injuries, and other injuries, aches, pains, and chronic and acute conditions. It is also ideal for post-surgery therapy. ART is based on scientific evidence that soft tissues such as muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue develop adhesions after cumulative injuries. Adhesions alter the motion of muscles or joints, resulting in a variety of symptoms, including pain, weakness, reduced range of motion, numbness and tingling. ART works on muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerve entrapment sites, and is used to break down scar tissue and adhesions that form within or between these soft tissues, thus restoring full function. ART is a method of separating adhesions, leaving nerve and muscle tissue free to function properly and without pain. “Thanks to Dr. Eldridge’s Active Release treatment, I went
from being barely able to run, to placing #23 out of 206 in my age category
in the San Francisco Half Marathon! I had been seeing an
orthopedic doctor and had done 15 physical therapy sessions with no success. After
only 8 ART treatments, I was back to running and training for the half
marathon. I think this treatment procedure is incredibly beneficial.” The Benefits of Active Release Technique
Read what ART patients and experts have to say about ART Denver ART Provider Active Release Technique can only be performed by a credentialed provider of ART. Denver ART Practitioner Dr. Randy Eldridge is the longest certified practitioner of Active Release Technique (ART) in Denver. ART requires knowledge of anatomy, neurology, and bio mechanics to correctly diagnose and treat injuries. Be wary of anyone claiming to know ART who has never attended formal training. Ask to see proof of credentials, call the Active Release Home Office at 888-396-2727, or access the web site at activereleasetechniques.com for verification or more ART information. What is Treatment Like During a Denver ART session? After a diagnosis has been reached based on a history and examination of the texture, tightness and movement of the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves, the doctor will apply specific pressure in specific areas based on over 500 precise ART protocols, in combination with very specific patient movements. The doctor's hands-on contact, coupled with the patient’s movements, facilitate separation and release of the adhesions. Active Release Technique involve patients taking an active role in their own recovery. In addition to movements required during treatment, patients may be asked to rest or to strengthen the area being treated. Treatment length is variable and specific to each case, with an average being 6-12 visits. Adhesions and Cumulative Injuries Cumulative Injuries describe problems that result from repeating an action over and over, which leads to the Cumulative Injury Cycle (CIC). Cumulative Trauma Disorder (CTD), Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI), and Repetitive Motion Injury (RMI) are all forms of cumulative injuries. Cumulative injuries are common to athletes and people who often use computers. Some examples include hip flexor strains in triathletes, carpal tunnel syndrome and/or upper back pain from sitting at a computer for hours, shin splints after long distance running, and shoulder pain from repetitive throwing. ART can help with all these types of repetitive action injuries. We hope this page provided you with a basic understanding of ART.
